Camping at Lost Lands
Let’s face it: if you’ve ever been to Lost Lands Music Festival, you KNOW that camping is NOT for the weak! With big hills, uneven terrain, and dust that will cause the wook flu, it’s essential to be prepared. Here’s a guide on how to make your camping experience far less miserable… stay tuned for tips and a packing list anyone can use for their next journey to Lost Lands!
Types of Camping
Lost Lands offers a variety of camping options including tent only, easy tent camping (tent set for you with sleep gear), GA car camping, Dino Divas (for people identifying as women), quiet car camping, RV camping, ADA camping, and glamping (canvas tent with beds already set up). It’s crucial to pick the right option for what you want your experience to be, your budget, and location.
There are very few GA car camping spots that are close to the festival venue. The closest spots are in glamping and ADA camping. If your group arrives as early as possible, you may get a closer spot. This is important because the furthest spots are a significant walk to and from the venue, with many steep hills. Now you might say.. I can handle that! But I guarantee you will be less enthusiastic when it’s 85 degrees in the blazing sun, uphill, with tons of dust clouding your direction.
Weather
Speaking of the sun… I am from New England, and I was hot the entire time I was at Lost Lands. Don’t listen to all those influencers telling you it will be freezing! It does cool down at night, but I would describe it as a comfortable temperature, though if you’re coming from a warmer area, it may feel cooler. This festival is NOT well shaded throughout the day so bring shade, drink A LOT of water, and bring anything that will keep your body cool.
Also, make sure you prepare for it to rain at least once throughout the weekend. Every festival has rain. Better to be safe than sorry. Pack those rain ponchos and waterproof shoes! Pro tip: I sometimes wear water shoes on days when it’s raining a lot.
Set-up & Surviving Long Days
Definitely set up your campsite before the sun goes down or when you first arrive. You will thank yourself later! Create a space for you and your crew to relax and take breaks throughout the day and in the mornings. There are so many ways to be creative with your space to make it comfortable and easy to find. Pro tip for car campers: if you only have two people and you are camping with an SUV, get a tent extension like this one and put a mattress in the back of your car! much more comfortable than sleeping on uneven ground and a very cheap alternative to a big tent.
Make friends with your neighbors! This may be the key to your survival at Lost Lands. While it might sound silly, your neighbors might be the ones to offer you that one essential item you forgot. By creating a community, you and your new friends can keep each other safe and have some fun chats along the way.

As Always…
Stay fabulous,
