The voyage had begun, and had begun happily with a soft blue sky, and a calm sea.
Everyone who knows me knows that I am a head-banging metal head at heart. Fit for a King has been part of my musical palette for quite some time, so I was excited to see them on a headlining tour.
I have seen Fit for a King open for other bands before, but never as a headliner. Yet, any time I saw them take the stage, their set left me wanting more from them. As a headliner, Fit for a King delivered the set I had always imagined they would.
The crowd was electric throughout the entire show, and the band reciprocated the same energy, giving a harmonious interaction. The band played several of their current hits, including Breaking the Mirror and When Everything Means Nothing.
Beyond the energetic set, there was a soulful emotional connection to certain pieces of the show that made a good concert, a great one.

There are concerts you attend, and there are concerts you experience. Seeing Fit For a King live definitely falls into the second category. It’s the kind of night that shakes something loose in your chest and leaves you buzzing after the last breakdown echoes through the room.
The Worcester Palladium is one of my favorite venues to see a show and feels like home to me every time, so I expected the intensity. But every scream, every soaring chorus, and every drop hit with twice the force of the album versions.
When the band paused to talk about mental health and resilience, the room shifted from a whirlpool of bodies into a quiet, unified heartbeat. Everyone paused for a moment and lifted their flashlights and lighters for a moment of calm before jumping back into complete chaos.
The set ended the only way it could: with a breakdown that felt like it cracked open the floor. Everyone jumped, shouted, banged heads, and gave every last ounce of energy they had. By the time the final note faded, people were sweaty, exhausted, and grinning like idiots.
In a few words, it ended the way it should, with attendees enjoying the moment and embracing some chaos before diving back into reality.
Take a listen to Fit for a King’s most recent album, Lonely God. You won’t regret it. And if you are from or visiting Massachusetts, go to a show at the Worcester Palladium. It may not be the most beautiful venue, but the crowd is always energetic, and the sound crew is wonderful. They know how to balance the sound just right.
As always,
Stay fabulous…
