Introduce yourself to the funkadelic tunes of this sextet: the Motet! They slayed the stage at Off the Rails in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Saturday, and it was super cool to be part of the jam. I stumbled upon the Motet by accident, and what a happy accident it was. Originally from Denver, Colorado, this funky group is a great mixture of powerhouse vocals, psychedelic guitar, jazzy saxophone, cool keyboard, and killer drums.
The Motet features a wild discography going back to 1998. Check them out on Spotify here!

There was something so incredible about being a part of a dance floor full of people enjoying themselves without a single phone in the air. I think this is the show I’ve been to with the least amount of phones out. It felt like a step back in time for a moment, which is necessary when our world is filled with technology that we’ve become incredibly reliant on. There was a moment during the show where I was dancing and my ears picked up a bridge with a guitar lick combined with amazing vocals that I loved so much it gave me some quick chills.
This is why I will always continue to go to concerts. Not just to get out of the house, but how the music makes me FEEL. We all need a solace to get us through life’s ever-changing, crazy challenges.

As always,
Stay fabulous!
